Essential Take-Aways from the Training

1. The doors of learning shall be open. Every person can learn mathematics to any level. This includes myself as a teacher developing a disposition towards continually learning & growing.
2. I am becoming, because we are becoming. Learning mathematics is a social activity which can be informed by an Ubuntu philosophy.
3. Multiple Representations. Value solutions that are represented in many ways; value different ways of seeing things; value solving one question in many different ways more than solving many different questions in one way.
4. Brains can grow and are influenced by our mindset. Mindful becoming through an awareness of research in neuroscience & metacognition.
5. Low floor; High Ceiling. How do we design good learning opportunities with an accessible entry level that can be taken to an advanced level?

Participants: 24 Secondary School teachers (preferably FET phase)
